Surround Yourself With Positive People

“You are the average of the 5 people you spend most time with.”
This is a quote from motivational speaker Jim Rohn.
If the premise of the Law of Attraction is that “like attracts like” then we
may need to ask ourselves what type of friends do we have in our circle and
why?
I am sure we have all experienced knowing someone that we want to avoid because they drain us too much, or who we find quite negative in their outlook on life? Do you ever dread answering the phone to a friend because you know they will only want to gossip or complain about something or simply because you come away from the conversation feeling worse, tired, down? Are YOU one of those people? Compare this to other friends who make you feel great just being in their company, that you always walk away from feeling uplifted, energised and in an even better mood that when you met.
I had a big goal last year and at the time it seemed somewhat impossible to achieve. Any time I had doubt I was blessed to have two amazing friends who constantly told me that I could do it, to keep going and that they believed in me. With their encouragement and support I achieved my goal and got to meet and consequently share a stage with the amazing, inspirational lady that is Lisa Nichols, from the Movie, “The Secret”. We can all go through challenging times in our lives and need a friend for advice, support or just to help us get things off our chest. However, if this becomes the “norm” every time you speak to someone it may be time to consider if a friendship is having a negative or positive impact on you and your life and what you need to do about it. It might also be time to ask yourself what type of person are you and how are you showing up with your friends?
